Small change. Big difference.
Whether it is verbal, physical, online or in-person, bullying has a significant impact on a child’s life well in to adulthood.
I should know as I was bullied when I moved to my Secondary School and had alopecia due to the stress and anxiety.
I also thought it was my fault.
So I think that experience all those years ago when I was 11 quietly infused my passion to develop a ‘Can Do – Confident Kid’ & that’s why I wrote my Can Do Kids Journal: Discover your Confidence Superpower.
Nurturing, developing & empowering children underpins all the work that I now do – from being a Deputy Headteacher to being a parenting expert for Disney, BBC & ITV ‘This Morning’
By making small, simple changes, we can break the cycle of bullying and create a safe environment for everyone.
Because together, we CAN & MUST challenge bullying.
Change starts with a conversation.
It starts with checking in.
It starts with work together.
Change starts here.
Change starts now.
Change starts with us.
Over the course of this Anti- Bullying Week I’ll be writing, Instagramming, blogging, videoing & talking about bullying – but as Mother Theresa taught me – don’t be against something be FOR something so my focus will be on filling up your child’s self esteem & confidence bucket so much that it will overflow & they won’t be targeted or badly affected by bullies wherever they may hide.
I think unfortunately politics around the world has inspired me to speak up even louder as I have been disgusted, distressed & disillusioned by Donald Trump but as I’m always looking for the ‘teachable moment’ so I think he’s unknowingly inspired a lot of people to speak up and speak out in favour of kindness, integrity, respect & honesty.
