Divide your To Do List into 3 Categories: Essential, Important and Trivial.

I work with many stressed out parents struggling to balance their work/life balance and I created my Weighing up your work – life balance audio course  to give parents practical solutions, simple ideas and a fresh way to manage their time.

I have written, talked and blogged a great deal  about Manic Mums and Dazed Dads before.

But what can you do if you feel as if there are not enough hours in the day to accomplish everything you want to do?

Life often is very hectic, frenetic and demanding but all you need to do is organise and write down your priorities.

Solutions:

Divide your To Do List into three categories: Essential, Important and Trivial.

Then, focus your attention and best energy on the top essential priority and make sure you complete it no matter what.

Don’t get hijacked by Twitter, the phone, your dog or your procrastination.

PLAN your day and  leave some space for the important things which also matter, like your kids, your partner or your elderly mother.

It creates a sense of perspective and balance.

Just ask yourself 3 times during the day ( mid morning, lunchtime, mid afternoon)

“Am I being busy or productive?” and take your cue from there.

Finally, make some time for the less important and the fun stuff  because life is short…. so remember to wear your party pants !

No matter what, be at peace at the end of the day and relax ready to recharge your batteries for the next day.

If you don’t manage your time, your energy or your life ….. someone else will and that may not be the direction you want your life to go !

Take back control and feel less stressed !
