More than a third of parents banned from taking pictures of school nativity plays believe rules are ‘over the top’
As a former Deputy Head teacher I’m speaking on BBC WM later today about the survey that more than a third of parents have been banned from taking pictures of their own children in the school nativity play, despite the majority of parents believing the rules are over the top.
Although a growing number of schools have put tighter measures in place, 70 per cent of parents said they didn’t feel it was right to ban photos during special one-off performances, a poll by Families Online has found.
While concerns over posting images of children on social media have grown, 57 per cent of parents still feel that banning photos at nativity plays was an unnecessary security measure.
As many as 66 per cent of parents said that placing a blanket ban on photography for what is the ‘epitome of innocence’, was simply a step too far in the online poll.
