As regular readers of my blog will know it is exactly a year ago tonight that I found out on Facebook that my husband of 21 years was “in love” with a 35 year old Romanian woman who lived in Sweden.
My kids bought me yellow roses and cooked a meal for me with chocolate involved in the pudding.
I was touched.
So what have I learned about myself this last year?
Well I never knew what fear was until I woke up in the night constantly at 3 am transfixed with fear about my future.
I’ve learnt that I am resilient, tenacious, vulnerable and a survivor.
I always tell my clients that divorce is a process not an event – I still believe that to be true and that you need to make sure you have good friends to support you when you wobble.
