Having a new baby is very exciting but your older child may worry about what all the changes may mean to them as for the last year or two they have probably been the centre of your universe so it’s a good idea to prepare them for this exciting new arrival.

Tip 13. Time-share.
It’s admirable and right to say that you’ll give each child equal amounts of your time, but it’s unrealistic.
New babies require a lot of looking after, and you don’t have 200% of yourself to give.
There are, however, easy ways to share with your toddler the time you spend caring for your baby.
When feeding the baby, read a book to your toddler or sing nursery rhymes and songs, or place your baby in an infant seat on the floor to watch while you play with their big brother or sister.
As your infant gets a bit older, encourage your toddler to entertain them by making funny faces, playing gently with them as it will become something they will both love.
Big toothless grins and giggles from their baby brother can be an incredible ego boost as your toddler thinks, “Hey, he likes me.”
