Sue adds Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to her ‘Talking Therapies’
Posted by: Sue Atkins
This week I’m delighted to be studying Cognitive Behavioural Therapy up in London at the British Psychological Society Learning Centre for the purposes of my Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
In the last few years, the dialogue around therapy has radically changed, with CBT becoming a “must have” therapeutic approach for all therapists and counsellors.
When the UK government decides to invest around half a BILLION pounds in a particular therapeutic approach (CBT), you can be certain it’s a “game changer” so I thought I better add it to my B.Ed (Hons) Degree, my NLP ( Neuro Linguistic Programming) Master Practitioner & Trainer qualifications, my EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique – ‘Tapping’ ) qualifications and my Life Coaching qualifications.
I believe that ‘Talking Therapies’ are a vital component in my approach to helping you become the best parent you can be for your children, free from finger pointing, judgment or criticism.
I’m here to offer you a helping hand and some practical solutions to your parenting problems whether you have a toddler or a teen or are going through a divorce, and I love adding more knowledge to my toolkit to help you.
I use my 25 years of teaching, coaching and supporting families to personally help you to find the answers to your specific worries, niggles or problems using whatever combination of my skill set that I think will help you.
