The most recent estimate of the total number of U.S. children diagnosed with ADHD is 5.4 million, as of 2007, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Consider what it means to have that many children now classified as distracted to the point of disability. As the numbers of diagnosed children have skyrocketed, we’ve labelled the kids but not the place where they’re getting into the most trouble: the classroom.
