Safeguarding & Child Protection Consultant, Trainer, Author and Troubleshooter
Ann Marie has been working within children’s services and allied settings for over 20 years. She is a qualified social worker and has been specifically involved with safeguarding in education and child care setting for 17 years.
She is an accredited NSPCC (Child Protection Charity based in the UK) Child Protection Trainer and an accredited Safer Recruitment Trainer. Since 2010 she has been working independently as a safeguarding consultant and currently works with various bodies including ISI (Independent School Inspectorate) Consultancy, BSA (Boarding School Association), CCPAS (Church Child Protection Advisory Service), NSPCC, IAPS Independent Association for Prep Schools, COIS (Council of International Schools) various schools, Academy Trusts, Charities, Sports, Faith & Arts organisations and Local Authorities.
Ann Marie delivers regular workshops and Keynote speeches at national and international conferences and contributes safeguarding articles to various journals for example, Head teachers Update, SEN Magazine, Optimus Education Journals, Boarding Schools Association publications and more.
Ann Marie helps schools and organisations by supporting and fulfilling their safeguarding duties inline with The Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2015/2018 and Keeping children Safe in Education 2016.
With good practice from completing audits and delivering compliance workshops, she is confident with her knowledge about understanding the safeguarding agenda and challenges in these settings.
Additionally, she supports schools and organisations in trouble shooting cases that are stuck, about to be closed by Children Social Care or never accepted as a referral.
Ann Marie has worked in front line child protection for over twenty years and have specialised in education & childcare setting for the last seventeen years. She works nationally and internationally as well as providing in-house training to all types of childcare settings.
At the moment Ann Marie offers various training courses including; Designated Safeguarding Lead and Officer Training, General safeguarding Training and Safer Recruitment Training.
With over 15 years’ experience of public speaking, Ann Marie frequently delivers workshops and delivers key note speeches at national and international conferences.
She spreads her good practice and passion about the voice of the child and their well being as well delivering the strong safeguarding agenda.
Since 2008, Ann Marie has been working internationally working with schools in Europe, Far East and the Middle East
In 2015, she became an affiliated consultant for CIOS and continues to support international schools across the world.
