Don’t Stew – Ask Sue Parenting Q & A
Hello Sue,
Sounds like you’ve got your hands full:)
The teenage years are full of pushing boundaries and testing them. If you see it as about striving for independence and that they are really just tall toddlers it can sometimes help.
It’s about choosing your battles so that you can keep the lines of communication open. Kids need to feel capable and competent & don’t like to be ‘told’ so much in the teenage years but they need rules too.
My article about The Crucial ‘C’s can help pinpoint which of these maybe missing.
Here are a couple of webinars that I hope will help you:
The Crucial ‘C’s’ -The Blueprint for Raising Happy, Confident, Resilient Children.
Sex, Drugs & Rock & Roll – Navigating the Choppy Waters of the Teenage Years
Hope that helps
Sue
