I’m Carlie and I live in Alsager in Cheshire, England. As my children discovered the magic of books, I discovered the joy of writing stories for them to read. I have written several picture books and am currently writing my first chapter book.

I am delighted to publish ‘The Rainbow Blots’, which is part of The Rainbow Blots series.

I composed the song ‘Do You Know The Colours Of The Rainbow?’ to accompany the Rainbow Blots series. My rainbow song is written in rhyme and teaches children the seven colours of the rainbow in the correct order. I do hope you enjoy it! The video of my song features the characters from the Rainbow Blots and is on my YouTube channel.

As a child, I used to devour books – frequently by torchlight under my duvet! My older sister was forever making up adventure games which we would play in the garden all summer long. We would let our imaginations run wild, finding ourselves in new lands, running away from imaginary creatures and avoiding all sorts of pretend obstacles. Having children reawakened my love of making up stories and this has now become my passion.

I am a chartered accountant by trade (ACA), with a Philosophy degree from Cambridge University and I obtained an MMus in Performance Practice whilst studying piano at Trinity College of Music in London. I have sung with the BBC Symphony Chorus, the London Philharmonic Choir and Barts Choir in London as well as singing in Christ’s College Chapel Choir, whilst an undergraduate.
