Skating Through ADHD: From Hockey to Homework by Iris Alapin

Alex is an 8-year-old boy who loves hockey. He is not a big fan of school however. Indeed, his boundless energy represents quite a challenge when he is off the ice. The thing is, Alex has ADHD and can get quite restless in class and at home. For example, sitting at his desk for a whole class isn’t easy. His body wants to move and his mind can’t settle down, that is why he starts wiggling around in his chair. After meeting with a specialist, Alex will learn several tricks and strategies to help him better manage his body and his mind.

As a clinical psychologist, for the the past 20 years, and being a mom to a nine year old boy, I was inspired to write books addressing some of the challenges children and their parents may be confronted with. Hopefully my books will spark discussions between parents and their kids.
