I’ve been in London all day at http://www.markettiers4dc.com/ speaking to about 20 different radio stations around the UK as I was asked to give my opinion on a new survey by Lego. This new survey discovered that over 80% of parents admitted that their children would rather actively play with toys and games than sit in front of the telly.
How fantastic is that!
I was really excited when I heard that, as play is such an important part of growing up, building bridges not walls between children and parents of all ages and a great way to build those wonderful childhood memories that last a lifetime. To say nothing about building their imaginative play, social skills, dexterity, thinking skills and vocabulary.

So commit to making a new routine for “play time” in your house when it can fit naturally and easily into your busy routines – and be specific and commit to making it happen for a week then it turns easily and quickly into a new play habit.
Come in, kick off your shoes, take off your suit and have a bit of fun playing with your kids and notice your own stress levels go down – it doesn’t have to be for ages but read my article on “In a Minute” => here for another simple technique for finding that extra minute or two to connect, bond and build the relationship you’ve always wanted with your kids.
